How Much Does Window Tint Cost in Vancouver? (2026 Pricing Guide)

April 22, 2026

Window tint pricing in Vancouver ranges from $150 to $700+ depending on your vehicle, how many windows you're covering, and what film you're using. That range is wide — and the difference between the low and high end isn't just price. Here's what you're actually paying for.

What Window Tint Costs in Vancouver — By Coverage

These are our actual prices at Inspire Auto Studio. All installations include a manufacturer lifetime warranty.

Front 2 windows — $149 (dyed) / $199 (ceramic) Driver and front passenger windows. Front side windows have legal restrictions in BC — come in for a consultation and we'll walk you through your options honestly.

Rear windows + rear glass — $299 (dyed) / $449 (ceramic) All rear side windows and the rear windshield. No VLT restriction back here — you can go as dark as you want. Most clients choose 15% for privacy and heat rejection.

Full vehicle surround — $399 (dyed) / $600 (ceramic) Every window on the car. The most popular package for drivers who want a complete, consistent result.

Windshield (Llumar AIR 80) — $299 A near-clear ceramic film (approx. 80% VLT) applied to the full windshield. Looks like no tint at all but significantly reduces interior heat on hot days. Ceramic only — this isn't available in dyed film. Come in for a consultation and we'll walk you through the considerations.

Sunroof — $80 (dyed) / $125 (ceramic) Add-on to any package.

What Drives the Price Up or Down

Number of windows. More glass = more film = more installation time. A full SUV is a bigger job than a sedan.

Vehicle complexity. Some rear windows have complex curves, defrost lines, or third-row configurations that require more careful cutting and installation. A 4-door sedan is straightforward. A panoramic sunroof adds complexity.

Film quality. This is the biggest variable and the one most people underweight. Entry-level dyed film and premium ceramic film are priced very differently — and they perform very differently.

Coverage choices. Some clients tint only rear windows. Others want the full vehicle including the windshield. What you decide to cover directly changes the price.

Installer experience. Window tint done poorly is immediately obvious — bubbles, lifting edges, visible lines, uneven cuts. Experienced installers who do clean work charge accordingly.

Film Quality Is the Biggest Variable

Not all window film is the same. There are three main types, and the difference matters:

Dyed film (entry-level) The cheapest option. Tints the glass for privacy and light reduction. Minimal heat rejection. Fades over time — often turning purple after a few years. No infrared blocking. Works short-term, but you'll be replacing it.

Carbon film (mid-range) Better than dyed. Doesn't fade, provides decent heat rejection, looks clean. A solid middle ground for rear windows where heat blocking and privacy are the goal.

Ceramic film (premium) The best available. Blocks significantly more infrared heat than dyed or carbon film — which is what actually heats up your interior. Stays optically clear without colour shift. Doesn't interfere with phone signals or GPS (unlike some metallic films). Lasts the life of the vehicle with a warranty to back it up.

The price difference between entry-level and ceramic is real. But so is the performance difference.

Llumar Window Film — What We Install and Why

At Inspire Auto Studio, we install Llumar — one of the most widely recognised window film brands in the industry, with decades of use in automotive applications.

Llumar is available in multiple product lines from light to dark, dyed to ceramic. For clients who want meaningful heat rejection rather than just privacy, we recommend their ceramic lineup. For rear-window privacy applications where heat blocking is secondary, their carbon film performs well at a more accessible price.

We'll recommend the right film for your priorities — not just the easiest sell.

What Cheap Tint Actually Costs You

A $99 tint job exists. You'll find shops advertising it. Here's what typically comes with it:

  • Entry-level dyed film that fades and purples within 2–3 years
  • No warranty or a warranty that's difficult to claim
  • Visible bubbles, lifting edges, or cut lines on complex curved glass
  • Removal costs when it fails — which can run $100–$200 on its own

Quality window film installed properly lasts 10+ years. Cheap film installed poorly lasts 2–3. The math usually favours doing it right the first time.

Front Windows vs. Full Vehicle — What Most People Get

The most common setup we see is: rear windows at 15% VLT for privacy and heat rejection, windshield left untreated or done in ceramic.

This gives you real privacy and heat reduction in the back with UV protection across all sides.

Full-vehicle ceramic is the step up — consistent look across every window, maximum heat rejection, and a clean finish that holds up long-term.
